International Carnival and Mask Museum

Formerly an Augustinian school in the 18th century, the International Museum of Carnival and Mask takes you on a fascinating voyage into the heart of festivals and rituals throughout the world. From the Binche Festival, to winter fairs in Europe, masked festivals of the Inuits, via the Native Indians of North America, without forgetting Africa, Oceania and Asia. In doing so, you will discover the universal nature of the mask and its multitude of uses. The museum exhibits hundreds of masks, disguises and accessories of all shapes and materials.

It also holds temporary exhibitions, with each one being more breath-taking than the last, as much for their subject matter as their staging.
